In graduate school, you will experience more specialized academics and serious research.

It is also useful for finding a career. Graduates of graduate school have a higher job placement percentage than graduates of the undergraduate program.

Currently, nearly half of students graduating from the Faculty of Science continue to the Master’s program.

Question: Which graduate schools do graduates of the Faculty of Science enter?

Answer: Many graduates of the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Department of Physics and Informatics and Department of Geosphere Sciences enter the Mathematical Sciences major, Physics and Informatics major and Earth Science major in the Graduate School of Science and Engineering. Graduates of the Department of Biology and Chemistry often continue to the Environmental Science and Engineering major of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering or the Applied Molecular Biology major in the Graduate School of Medicine.

Question: How long are the graduate courses?

Answer: The Master’s program is two years. Additionally, the Doctoral program is three years.

Students with particularly excellent grades may be able to complete their course early.

 

Question: Is there no Master’s course?

Answer: The first half of the Doctoral course corresponds to a Master’s course.

 

Question: What degrees can be acquired in graduate school?

Answer: Students completing the Master’s program receive their Master’s degree.

Students who complete the Doctoral program receive their Doctorate.

 

Question: Can I complete a graduate degree while working?

Answer: We offer programs that include entrance examinations and course enrollment

for fully employed students.
